It’s Not What You Think
Some of the comments and questions I get regarding candle making are...wow! I want to let you all know that candle making isn’t a skip and a hop in the park all the time. It comes with a lot of math, science, and experimenting! Ratios need to be close to perfection when creating these. Patience is needed after they are completed as well. Sometimes I get so excited and want to immediately burn them; however, I remember there’s a “curing” stage which means I have to let these babies sit for 3 days to 3 weeks. There was a lot of vocabulary I was clueless about. There was a lot of frustration in the beginning as well when the batches of candles would come out hideous! Tunneling, wrong wicks, wrong temperatures, Oh-My-Gosh! Here’s a photo of “The Process” when it comes to measuring the oil to wax ratio.
