It’s a shame that I’m a country girl, and never went horseback riding. 🥴
I grew up in the country where most call it the “boondocks” 🙄 - Wasn’t reallllly the boondocks compared to other small towns.... but yea...
Anyway, I took the time out to scratch something off my list of “Things I haven’t done.” And must I say... it was nice.
Horses have so much personality I tell you that! Zar was the name of the horse that I connected with. He was 20 years old. Man, he was so sweet, polite, and so gentle with me. The ride was an hour long and I enjoyed every minute of it! Zar and I communicated through body language and physical directions. He was a little clumsy when we would walk over tree stumps (we both almost went down twice) 😂... but he caught his balance every time. He’s so smart and careful, I noticed on the ride, he wouldn’t want to step in holes, soft marsh, or anything that looks “suspect” to him. So even though I’d direct him to go through it and follow behind the horse in front of us...Zar basically was like “nah, ima go this way.” The more relaxed I became, the more I was able to trust him & vice versa. I couldn’t stop petting and loving on him during the ride. I even had the chance of giving him treats at the end for being so good. Come to find out, Zar likes peppermints lol. I can’t explain the feeling, but it was nothing less than amazing!
I can’t wait to go back to see him. I’ve always loved animals so this was so satisfying for me. My next adventure may have elephants in it. You guys know how much I love elephants! Stay tuned for more adventures.
